Flashback Friday

We are attending Darin's cousin graduation today from CSULB!! Congratulations Leslie, we are so proud of you!! Since we both graduated from LB I thought I post a picture of me 8 years ago.
This was a funny day because I actually finished my course work in December of 2000 and did not walk until May 2001. So I had to take the day off from work to walk in my graduation ceremony.

Easter 2009

Although a little late posting, here are a few quick pictures from Easter. My cousin Kim was so kind to host it at her house in San Clemente and it was a beautiful day, we had a great time. Having our family together is such a blessing and although we are loud and a little crazy at times, we always end up having a great time.
MY BIG FAT NON-GREEK FAMILY!!
LOVE YOU!!!

Happy Memorial Day

This year Memorial Day has a new meaning for our family.... With both of us being off I have to admit I did not even realize it was a holiday weekend until Tuesday. When I was working I remember how excited I was on a Monday before a holiday, looking forward to that three day weekend. Now every weekend is a three day weekend. I've been given a basket of lemons lately, so I am making the best lemonade ever. :) With us slowing down and appreciating every day and what we have today, I took the time to try and explain to the kids what Memorial Day represents and why we celebrate. Isabella understood, Aaron kinda got it and Abby just said o.k. So to all those soldiers who have given us what we have today, I say THANK YOU!!
A tradition for our family has become attending the strawberry festival in Garden Grove. We have such a blast and with both of us off we were able to take advantage of buying wristbands for the kids. This allows them access to as many rides as they want all day. They had such a blast as you can see below.

Day Sixteen

So I thought for sure that since I was home, I would be able to post the daily fun. Boy was I wrong. I posted more when I worked all day.

I always knew being a stay at home mom was more work, but for someone who had a corporate routine for eight years, switching to this new one is hard, but I welcome the challenge. I am going on field trips, volunteering at the Strawberry festival, helping family and friends with day care when in a jam, researching grants for my kids preschool and just being where I am needed for those I care about. It is pretty great and I am loving it.

So to end before Abby wakes up from her nap, I pick up Isabella at 3pm, take the kids to soccer signs ups at 6pm and have friends over at 7:30pm, I just wanted to say I am doing really great, my life took a turn I was not expecting, but all my kids are healthy, we have roof over our heads and food on the table. I am so blessed!!

Day One

Officially OC Statistic - Darin and I are both unemployed. We never saw that coming. For the past 6 months I knew it was a possibility, but thought I could make it through. I was wrong.

I believe everyone has a choice and in November 2007, I made the choice to leave apartment marketing and enter the world of non-profit construction. Two words today, that definitely mean -lack of opportunity. I do not regret my decision. This has been one of the best experiences of my life. I believe things happen for a reason and although I do not see the light at the end of the tunnel, I know I will see it soon. Thank you to all my friends at Shea who have shaped me into the professional I am today. I will never forget any of you and the contributions you have made towards my success.

So if anyone knows of any opportunities in marketing, construction operations, non-profit, administration.. I am ready for my next adventure. THANKS!!
